The Skaggs School of Pharmacy (SSOP) at the University of Montana invites applications for two (2) full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor in Ambulatory Care positions in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
Successful candidates will be expected to devote approximately 50% effort to clinical services and precepting for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience students. Potential clinical practice sites include ambulatory care practice within a Federally Qualified Health Center with established clinical pharmacy services in a busy outpatient clinic affiliated with the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana, or a small community hospital with an affiliated outpatient clinic and potential for close collaboration with cardiology for pharmacy program development. Successful candidates will allocate the remaining 50% of their effort to didactic teaching responsibilities in clinical therapeutics and pharmacy practice courses additional experiential program support. Teaching efforts may also include the development and/or coordination of courses and teaching labs, and other pharmacy practice courses as assigned by Chair/Dean within the expertise of the successful candidate. The faculty member should also expect to contribute service efforts to the activities of the School and University and should strive to contribute to the growth of the profession through service on a local, regional and/or national level. Service may also include effort at the clinical practice site that is aligned with site goals, potential clinical research and/or patient – care activities that advance pharmacist - driven care.

Position Details
Title: Clinical Assistant Professor, Pharmacy Practice – Ambulatory Care
Position Type: Non-Tenure track in the Pharmacy Practice Department, Skaggs School of Pharmacy
Schedule: Full time fiscal year (12 months)
Salary: Salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution or equivalent degree
- Successful completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent fellowship -or- a minimum of three (3) years of relevant pharmacy experience
- Eligible for pharmacy licensure in the state of Montana
- Eligible to precept pharmacy students in the state of Montana
- Possess excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience in education of pharmacy students or other health profession students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession or eligibility for Board Certification in Ambulatory Care (BCACP), Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), Cardiology (BCCP), or other BPS-recognized specialty certification Possession of focused certification in specific areas of chronic disease medication management (e.g., diabetes management, asthma education, medication therapy management)

Students complete all required APPEs in the state and can choose to complete elective APPEs either in state or out of state. Class size is capped at 65 students, which allows for better interaction and learning experiences.
