ChristianaCare is recruiting an Infectious Disease and Antimicrobial Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of acute clinical pharmacy experience)
  • ASHP-accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease Pharmacy Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of acute infectious disease / antimicrobial stewardship experience, in addition to PGY1 residency or equivalent)
  • Board Certification (example, BCIDP) required within 2 years of hire
  • Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Delaware and State of Maryland


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain guidelines, order sets, policies, and procedures
  • Deliver direct patient care activities through prospective audit and feedback by crafting, recommending, monitoring, and evaluating patient specific pharmacotherapy
  • Responsible for compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards for antimicrobial stewardship
  • Enforce the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Core Elements of Hospital Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs and Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship
  • Maintain a proficiency in knowledge related to current resources and primary literature pertinent to infectious disease pharmacotherapy
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and promote education, training, competency assessment of pharmacists
