The College of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of tenure-track/non-tenure track Associate/Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice.
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a visionary leader for the Department who has experience in leading a team with clinical and educational skills. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and have a proven ability to manage a diverse group of professionals, integrating clinical and educational expertise to foster a collaborative and innovative environment. With a strong background in clinical practice, the candidate will demonstrate hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field, ensuring that the department remains at the forefront of clinical excellence. In addition to clinical practice, the candidate will have recent teaching experience, showcasing a commitment to education and the ability to engage and inspire students. A track record of scholarly success is essential, with notable achievements in research, publications, and contributions to the academic community. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in collaborating with external groups, such as other health systems, academic medical centers, and related organizations, to enhance the department’s reach and impact. The Chair will be expected to work with the Department in a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent manner to promote overall interests and development of the department faculty, staff, postdocs, and students, and with the Dean and other leadership of the College of Pharmacy to fulfill its research, education, and governance missions.
The department is highly integrative and collaborative, with a strong focus on building around several areas of excellence in clinical practice, didactic and practice-based education, service, and scholarly work. Faculty in the department are dedicated to enhancing clinical practice and education to empower the next generation of pharmacists with essential skills and knowledge. The UF College of Pharmacy possesses outstanding strengths, currently ranked #4 among colleges of pharmacy according to US News and World Report and #3 in federal and NIH research funding, according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. The College is based in one of the largest integrated academic health centers in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, situated on a campus serving over 50,000 students.
