Applications are invited for a 12-month, non-tenure-track clinical pharmacy faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UAMS College of Pharmacy Northwest Campus. This faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level will contribute to the educational, scholarly, and service missions of the UAMS College of Pharmacy and UAMS Northwest. This position requires the provision of clinical pharmacy services in a patient centered medical home within an academic health center regional campus at UAMS Northwest. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the interprofessional patient care team, collaborating with patients, family members and healthcare professionals to deliver quality, efficient, and cost-effective healthcare. In addition to clinical pharmacy services, the position requires didactic and experiential teaching of pharmacy students; clinical education of pharmacy and medical residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals; and leadership and administration of the PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy residency at UAMS Northwest. Collaborative scholarly and creative efforts and service to the College of Pharmacy, the UAMS Northwest Family Medicine Residency Program, and the profession of pharmacy are also required. Further information related to UAMS Northwest may be found at https://regionalcampuses.uams.edu/regional-campuses/uams-northwest/.

The UAMS College of Pharmacy offers the opportunity to provide excellent pharmacy education in a stimulating environment where delivery of superb patient care is integrated with nationally and internationally recognized research. The Northwest campus is home to five faculty members as well as a PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy resident. Twenty-five percent of COP students transition to the Northwest Campus to complete the third and fourth professional years. Overall, the UAMS Northwest campus is home to approximately 300 students from the colleges of pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and health professions, as well as 50 medical residents. The family medicine residency program consists of 30 medical residents, 7 physician faculty and one behavioral health faculty member.

The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills. Candidates must hold an earned PharmD, be eligible for Arkansas pharmacist licensure, and have completed a PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy residency (preferred) or a PGY1 pharmacy residency and at least 3 years of advanced clinical practice in an ambulatory care pharmacy setting. Preferred qualifications include current/ongoing experience in an advanced ambulatory care, family medicine or internal medicine clinical practice; board certification in ambulatory care pharmacy (BCACP); experience in active learning strategies, academic health education and clinical teaching; active participation in research/scholarly activities. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with education and experience.

Candidates should submit via email a letter of intent summarizing interest and qualifications, curriculum vitae, and statement of teaching philosophy to Scott Warmack, PharmD, Associate Dean – NW campus; email: twarmack@uams.edu; phone: (479) 713-8401.
