The Center for Pharmacy Innovation & Outcomes (CPIO) is led by Dr. Wright and founded in 2015 as a strategic partnership between Geisinger enterprise Pharmacy and Geisinger’s Research Institute. Our research spans across conditions, including cardiometabolic conditions, substance use, specialty pharmacy, geriatrics, hematology/oncology, pharmacogenomics, pharmacoepidemiology and transitions of care. The CPIO’s vision is to innovate and learn from investigations that optimize medications for populations. With over $15 million in external funding from federal, NGOs and industry and average publications of over 25 per year, the CPIO is a highly productive unit both in terms of scholarly metrics and impact to our patients and health system.

The Center for Kidney Health Research (CKHR): Co-led by Dr. Chang and Dr. Green, the CKHR is dedicated to decreasing the burden of kidney disease through a clinic-based, patient-oriented research program in a learning healthcare system environment. Active areas of research interest and opportunity for pharmacist investigators include: telehealth pharmacist co-management of hypertension, cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome, pharmacoepidemiology, genetics of CKD.
