The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for the Assistant Dean of Student Success. The position is a full-time 12-month administrative faculty position. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and is a member of the College Leadership Team. The ADSS manages and strategically executes programs for students' success during all stages of the pharmacy professional career through the Office of Student Affairs. The ADSS works with college, university, and community members to foster candidate, student, and alumni success. The ADSS will have the opportunity to teach and maintain scholarship and/or clinical programs in their respective field. This position’s faculty rank and tenure status will be dependent on qualifications. Start date for the position is flexible. 

Essential Functions 

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Serve as a resource and advisor for active and prospective applicants, current students, and alumni.
  • Represent the Fisch College of Pharmacy at recruitment, outreach, development, and alumni events. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the Office of Student Affairs to develop and lead student and alumni success programs. 
  • Oversee the dissemination, review and submission as needed of student scholarships and awards. 
  • Ensure completion of Fisch College of Pharmacy scholarship recipients’ requirements.  Support student organization engagement and enhancement. 
  • Engage with industry partners and other University services and offices to enhance student scholarship, organization, and professional opportunities (examples: Career Success, Alumni, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Student Engagement, Student Services, Marketing, Enrollment etc.). 
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute student events such as Jump Start, orientation, exit week, interviews, white coat ceremony, open houses, graduation ceremonies, career fairs, student organization events, student advising events and workshops. 
  • Maintain faculty responsibilities to ensure promotion and/or tenure (teaching, scholarship, service). 
  • Assure the Office of Student Affairs complies with federal, state, and accreditation standards and regulations about applicant data and functions. 
  • Assure the Office of Student Affairs complies with all UT Tyler procedures, regulations, and rules. 
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and maintenance of all application records and data. 
  • Serve on college and campus committees as needed. 
  • Attend College of Pharmacy meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
