Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy Clinical Manager, Hematology Oncology.
In this role, the successful candidate The Clinical Pharmacy Manager in Hematology/Oncology is responsible for coordination and oversight of Hematology/Oncology clinical pharmacy activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in the Clinical Pharmacy On-Call Schedule. Assists in the coordination and development of new programs and services Recommends action on appointments, termination and other related pharmacy personnel matters Prepare for and lead the pharmacy section of our FACT Compliance Maintainsprofessional competency and certification. Responsiblefor Pharmacy Resident precepting; Pharmacy student mentoring; and Scholarlyactivity. Hospitalcommittee involvement, as identified and assigned by the Director of ClinicalPharmacy Services. Clinicalintervention, adverse drug reaction, and medication error documentation andreporting. Developsand implements clinical practice guidelines that will enhance pharmaceuticalcare and medication safety. Evaluatesand reports measures of patient encounter productivity and identifies methodsto enhance efficiency of such encounters. Contributeto professional development of hematology/oncology pharmacy staff. Providesoversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improvequality of care. Oversight of in-patient clinical hematology/oncology services. Works with other Pharmacy Managers to plan, coordinate, and maintain efficient pharmacy services. Development and oversight of out-patient clinical pharmacy services (e.g., BMT and pediatric hematology/oncology practice) and clinical pharmacy support of the Clinical Cancer Center Pharmacy Services. Provide direct oversight and quality assurance for the pharmacy portion of the Cart-T Cell therapy program. Develop and maintain a high-level hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy practice. Participate in multidisciplinary, bedside rounds, pharmacotherapeutic, pharmacokinetic, and pharmaco-economic consultation.
- Routinely evaluates current processes to insure medications are efficiently prepared, delivered and administered to patients in an accurate, safe and expeditious manner.
- Responsible for planning, communication, implementation and integration of new products into the clinical practice area.
- Evaluates performance, conducts annual performance and competency assessments, determines disciplinary actions and performs other human resource related actions as needed.
- Tofulfill the core values and mission of NYU Langone Health and incorporate them intothe performance of duties. Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy. New York State Pharmacist Licensure. PGYI pharmacy residency training. PGY2 pharmacy residency training or equivalent salaried professorship at a school of pharmacy. Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty is required within 18 months of hire. Self-motivation, good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum 3 years in progressive pharmaceutical position.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS
5 years experience in progressive pharmaceutical management position
