In addition to didactic and clinical teaching in the PharmD program, it is expected that this tenure-track faculty position will establish and maintain an active research and clinical practice at the Boise VA Medical Center. It is anticipated that this position will maintain practice in a general ambulatory care setting, however specialty practice is negotiable and should support the research interests of the faculty. Options for beginning faculty include: the ability to negotiate the timeline for the pre-tenure probationary period, start-up funds, and faculty development through teaching/scholarship mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching: didactic/laboratory/case studies teaching; course coordination; APPE/IPPE precepting (30%)
Service: College and University level committee work, professional service (10%)
Scholarship: develop and maintain an active scholarship program commensurate with a tenure track faculty (30-40%)
Clinical Service: establish and maintain a clinical practice in ambulatory care/ambulatory specialty (20-30%)
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited
Pharmacy Completion of an accredited PGY1 residency training program OR fellowship training program OR equivalent clinical and/or research experience
Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Idaho
US citizenship (required due to affiliation with Veterans Affairs)
Evidence of scholarly activity
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (i.e., MPH, PhD, etc)
Research fellowship
Completion of a PGY2 residency program
Board certification
Teaching experience
