Howard University College of Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Assistant or Associate Professor in the areas of Community Pharmacy Practice, Internal Medicine or Psychiatry, and Ambulatory Care for the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy Sciences in Washington, DC. Full-time faculty member will have responsibilities which include development of a pharmacy practice site, teaching, and other scholarly activities.
Position Description: A 12-month, Clinical educator track practice faculty position, at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
Candidate Requirements: Qualified candidates must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution, be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia*, and have completed a PGY1 and PGY2 or Fellowship in a relevant equivalent training or experience (at least 2 years). Board certification preferred.
Candidates must possess a strong commitment to practice, teaching and scholarship. Candidates will be expected to:
- Provide instruction in the PharmD program and serve as a course coordinator; Establish a practice site to support the experiential program and precept students, residents and fellows; Engage in scholarly activities including annual contributions to the literature, presentations at professional meetings and applying for external funding; Engage in service activities (department, college and university) to support the mission of Howard University; Other duties as assigned
*District of Columbia licensure required prior to appointment.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chair of the department and collaborate with key administrators especially in relationship to student academic progress, and accomplishment of the strategic plan.

- successful professional interactive relationships; time management skills; positive interpersonal communications; proficient use of higher education management tools (Blackboard™, RXPreceptor™); working cooperatively and collaboratively with others; working well in a team

The College has 29 FTE faculty, and a number of part-time faculty members who serve a professional student body of over 300 students and graduate students. The College is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and offers the Doctor of Pharmacy degree; distance learning based non-traditional Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and PhD degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
