The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track open rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) faculty. Founded in 1859, our College is the fifth oldest College of Pharmacy in the United States and the oldest entity within the University of Illinois system. We seek candidates with a diverse background who will help grow our research program portfolio focused on advancing translational or applied pharmacy practice research including but not limited to pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism, pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, biobehavioral science, health disparities, health services, dissemination and implementation science. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research interests complement and foster collaboration with our current research core, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, psychiatric and neurological disorders and will help support our mission of advancing health care through translational, applied and outcomes-based research. Applicants with research expertise and active, funded research programs in other areas are also encouraged to apply, given the breadth of collaborative research themes and programs available at the University of Illinois Chicago.

  • Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in the health sciences (PharmD, MD, Ph.D.) and have significant research experience.
  • Postdoctoral research training and/or fellowship training is preferred.
  • Candidates will be expected to develop and sustain an independent, extramurally funded research program as well as teach in the College of Pharmacy PharmD and PhD programs
  • A demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching excellence at the professional level and a history of innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research are preferred.
  • If engaged in clinical practice in Illinois, candidate must present evidence of a license as a registered pharmacist in the state of Illinois by employment start date.
  • Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience based on the norms and criteria of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
