Endeavor Health Edward Hospital is a fast-paced Emergency Department that sees approximately 80,000 patient visits per year. We are a state-designated Level II Trauma center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Joint Commission Stroke Center of Excellence that has earned Gold performance awards from the American Stroke Association for achievements in stroke patient care. We have 52 beds, including nine designated psychiatric rooms and a dedicated 10-bed pediatric ED that sees roughly 18,000 pediatric patients per year. Edward's Pediatric Emergency Department is recognized as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP), is one of only 10 Pediatric Critical Care Centers (PCCC) in Illinois and is staffed by physicians who are board-certified in both pediatrics and emergency medicine. In addition to two Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist Specialists, Edward ED also has a team of Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technicians who perform medication histories within the department.
The ED Pharmacist is responsible for the coordination of clinical pharmacy services in the emergency department to ensure optimal care outcomes. Assists in the development of pharmacy protocols and clinical workflows, as it relates to the emergency department and facilitates staff education and development with regard to these protocols and workflows, to ensure competency. Works directly with pharmacy, nursing and physician leaders to develop and maintain guidelines, policies, and protocols, as applicable. Participates in education of nurses, physicians and other ancillary staff in the emergency department. Provides support to medication reconciliation technicians to ensure accurate medication histories. Contributes to the direct care of emergency department patients as appropriate. Coordinates care with inpatient pharmacists to ensure a cohesive transition of care for patients to be admitted. Follows established policies, procedures, protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements in executing job responsibilities. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies.

What you will need:
- Clinical residency including a minimum of 2 years of clinical pharmacy practice experience required, (or) Minimum five years of clinical pharmacy practice experience
- Illinois Registered Pharmacist License - Current or Obtained within 90 days of start date into position
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross within six weeks of start date into position
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of start date into position
Preferred:
- Pharm D. from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
- Board Certified Pharmacy Specialist
