Job Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for providing pharmaceutical services to the patient in accordance with regulatory requirements (Joint Commission (JC), Title 22, OBRA), professional standards (ASHP guidelines), and state and federal laws. These services involve compounding and dispensing drugs; requisitioning pharmaceuticals and biologics; providing consultative services to hospitals and extended care facilities; assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmacy operations and programs for the enforcement of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to drugs. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
Licensure and Certification:
* Current CA Registered Pharmacist license
Education:
* Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Minimum BS Pharmacy,
* Pharm.D. preferred.
Experience:
* Health-system experience preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:
* Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
* Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
* Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
* Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
* Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
* Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
