Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce a national search for a Chief Pharmacy Officer.
As a key member of the system’s executive leadership team, Dartmouth Health is seeking a transformational leader who will contribute to the development and implementation of major strategic goals while representing pharmacy at the executive level. The successful candidate will be able to clearly communicate about results and outcomes and lead a large number of direct reports, including all system and hospital pharmacy leaders, towards successful integration. A demonstrated ability to strategize, set a vision, and follow a system approach are necessary, and this leader will benefit from having executive-level skills in finance, leadership, communication, and change management.
About the job:
The Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) is responsible for the overall strategy, planning, development, implementation, supervision, and administrative leadership of pharmacy programs, services, and business offerings across the Dartmouth Health system. This includes inpatient pharmacies, infusion pharmacies, retail and specialty pharmacies, prescription benefit management, and clinical and population health pharmacy services. In addition, this individual is responsible for overall pharmacy financial management for a large operating and capital budget, drug utilization management, and pharmacy supply chain management.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for Dartmouth Health, the CPO will maintain a comprehensive and long-range system view Dartmouth Health’s strategic plan, which constantly seeks to identify and take advantage of new opportunities to improve the health and wellness of patients served by the system. This position works closely with the system pharmacy leadership team, local pharmacy leaders and system and site level executives to lead implementation of contemporary pharmacy business operations and clinical models of care to ensure excellence in terms of quality, safety, service, regulatory compliance and financial performance to position the organization for strategic success. This may include plans for new ventures, enhancing the growth of existing and new lines of business, and ensuring the organization is in the best position to meet its strategic, service, and financial goals.

Minimum qualifications:
Qualified candidates will either hold a PharmD (preferred) or a master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Leadership, or a related field. They must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy and be able to obtain/maintain an unrestricted license with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy.
Candidates must possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in progressively responsible pharmacy management is required. Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership training preferred.
