Regulatory Science Program Faculty Director - Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

The Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the In Residence or Ladder Rank academic series. Depending on qualifications, applicants may be appointed at any of the levels of these series, assistant, associate or full.
The successful candidate will serve as the faculty director for a new Master’s program in regulatory science and health equity. In this role, the candidate will design, develop and participate in curriculum planning and development of the new degree program. He/she will coordinate instructors, delivering instruction to students (including lecturing, small group facilitation, and research project advising), proctoring and grading, and mentoring/advising. The candidate will also teach in other programs in the School of Pharmacy including the MS degree program in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Drug Discovery and Development, the PhD program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics and the PharmD program.
In addition, the applicant is expected to develop a strong research program, funded by federal and other grants, broadly in the areas of drug development, computational drug discovery and development, or regulatory science. These areas represent growth areas in the school, and it is envisioned that the candidate will have opportunities for leadership in these areas within the department and school.
We welcome applications from scientists with backgrounds and experiences in drug discovery and drug development, quantitative pharmacology, pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling, bioinformatics, pharmaceutical sciences, and related fields. Salary/rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s training and experience. Required Qualifications:
• PhD and/or pharmacy-related degree in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• Strong record of publications in computational drug discovery/development, and regulatory science.
• Experience working at or with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or other regulatory agencies.
• Past work experience on drug development in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience conducting research with multidisciplinary research teams.
• Computer programming skills.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to build a strong rapport with faculty and staff, both
within and outside of UCSF

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan](https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
