Internal Medicine and Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Positions

 

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is recruiting for two clinical pharmacy specialist positions: Internal Medicine (UofL Health – University of Louisville Hospital) and Transplant (UofL Health – Jewish Hospital). Both positions are primarily first shift, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends at their respective sites. Clinical Pharmacy Specialists provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes for patients. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist actively participates in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, medication order evaluation and verification, drug distribution, and clinical services including medication histories, pharmacokinetic dosing, drug information requests, and patient counseling.

 

Preferred Qualifications

1. Completion of PGY-2 residency training in specialty area OR;

2. Completion of PGY-1 residency plus 3-5 years of experience in specialty area OR;

3. Ten years of experience in specialty area

 

Available Positions

1. Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Internal Medicine: This full-time position at the University of Louisville Hospital will be dedicated to one of four of our internal medicine academic rounding teams and precept within the PGY1 and PGY2 Internal Medicine residency programs. 2. Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Transplant: Jewish Hospital is expanding clinical pharmacy services for our transplant patients with the addition of a third full-time transplant pharmacist. This position will cover abdominal transplant clinic and acute inpatient transplant rounding services and is primarily responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care throughout the continuum of care for patients undergoing solid organ transplant.
