Dean, Drake University, College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

Drake University is seeking a leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS). We seek a passionate and visionary leader—a Dean who will provide forward-looking and inspirational leadership to champion the College’s mission to prepare today’s learners to be tomorrow’s healthcare leaders. The new Dean will enjoy opportunities to build upon past accomplishments while also being empowered to pursue strategic opportunities. We welcome applications from candidates with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

The Dean provides academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership for CPHS, supports and promotes the faculty’s commitment to student learning and engagement, advances faculty scholarship, and fosters meaningful service to the College, the University, and to each of the disciplinary professions. Bringing organizational and management experience, the next Dean will; manage the College's administration; build bridges to the University and greater professional communities; partner with donors and philanthropic entities to effectively engage in fundraising; and advance the professional and interprofessional development of all students.

The Dean operates collaboratively and collegially with seven other academic Deans, reports to the University Provost, and serves as a senior leader at the institution and a member of the Academic Affairs Council.

This role will require strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, transparent, culturally aware, student- centered, and data-informed approach to leadership. The next Dean must possess a commitment to and track record of outcomes fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
