The UW Medical Center - Northwest Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Psychiatric Pharmacist to join us in our new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning building. 

WORK SCHEDULE
• 40 hours per week
• Rotating/Variable Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine's Pharmacy Department provides high-quality and comprehensive pharmacy services to our patients and providers. Our team of specially trained pharmacists and technicians work closely with doctors and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best medication therapy for their condition.

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING 
The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning, opening on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility will feature 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It will also house an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. The six-story building will be a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and will offer amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review medication orders for accuracy and evaluate appropriateness of therapy
• Provide patient profile review, assess patient data (such as demographics, chronic medical conditions, allergies, lab values, incompatibilities, etc.), and interpret data relative to patient’s medication needs
• Provide patient profile review for drug-drug interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriate regimens, etc.
• Accurately prepare and dispense medications
• Provide oversight and supervision to pharmacy  residents, interns, externs, students, and pharmacy technicians as required by law
• Engage in all aspects of therapeutic selection, implementation, monitoring, modification, and dispensing of drug therapy

Strong candidates will have completed an ASHP-accredited residency program and/or fellowship (or equivalent experience) and have at least 3 years (or equivalent) of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: A valid Washington State license to practice pharmacy or eligibility to obtain license prior to employment.
