In this full-time role, you’ll work collaboratively with EM provider teams to offer high-quality pharmacy care to patients receiving treatment in our emergency department. You’ll gain in-depth experience working with our extraordinary pharmacy team. You’ll also actively participate in related education and research activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Medication order verification for designated patients.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize drug therapy and prevent adverse medication events.
• Adverse event and medication error reporting, when necessary.
• Supplying drug information and education to medical and nursing staff.
• Educating and mentoring pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.

Successful candidates should be Florida-registered (or eligible) pharmacists who have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD and completion of a PGY2 emergency medicine residency or equivalent. Three to five years of experience in a relevant practice area will be considered equivalent to each year of residency training. Applicants who are board-certified are preferred.

We are seeking candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to integrate clinical services and educational activities. Applicants should show knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations, including interacting with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff; pharmacy residents; and medical students.
