The Department of Pharmacotherapy & Outcomes Science invites you to apply for a full-time, 12-month, term teaching and research faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice and will support the professional Pharm.D. program at the School of Pharmacy, which ranks among the top 20 colleges of pharmacy in the nation. Applicants must possess the Doctor of Pharmacy degree and must have completed post-doctoral residency or fellowship training specifically focused in ambulatory care, or equivalent experience. Board certification is highly desirable, and the candidate must be eligible for Virginia licensure. 

 

The candidate will join other clinician-educators and scientists in the Department of Pharmacotherapy & Outcomes Science. Job responsibilities will primarily include providing coordination and facilitation of skills laboratory courses in the Pharm.D. program and providing ambulatory care pharmacy services at VCU Health. Additional classroom and experiential instruction to Pharm.D. students will be assigned based on needs to meet the teaching mission of the school. Contributions to the peer-reviewed literature and other scholarly activities will also be expected but in alignment with the assigned mix of duties. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Service to the department, school, and community are also expected. Candidates with an established record of teaching and scholarly accomplishments are highly desirable. Although January 2024 is the preferred start date for this position, exceptions may be made for outstanding candidates. Please note that if you are employed as a university employee working in any of the health system's facilities, you will need to follow VCU Health System policies, which will include but will not be limited to, vaccination requirements.
