Overview:
The Associate Dean of Experiential Education will oversee the clinical/experiential education across School of Pharmacy Health and Sciences (SPHS) programs, including our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD), Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA), Master of Science in Genetic Counseling (MSGC), and Master of Science in Community Medicine (MSCM) programs.
This is an 80% appointment serving the PharmD Program, while the remaining 20% will support the other SPHS programs. The Associate Dean of Experiential Education will oversee all the Director(s) of Clinical Education/ Academic Fieldwork Coordinator/Clinical Coordinators in SPHS' programs. The Associate Dean of Experiential Education will report to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates must have earned a PharmD degree, and be eligible for pharmacy licensure. The successful candidate will have prior administrative experience in an academic setting, a demonstrated leadership capacity, a strong record, and demonstrated ability to support the school’s experiential education.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
PharmD Specific Responsibilities include the following (80%):
- Serves as a liaison between preceptors, staff, and students in matters involving experiential education.
- Direct the coordination and implementation of a quality pharmacy practice experiential curriculum, including Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences, and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
- Serves as a course coordinator for all Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences, and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
- Oversees and assists with the creation of rotation objectives for each course.
- Works with OEE team members to identify new preceptors and practice sites.
- Manages communications related to experiential education.
- Collaborates with all OEE team members and the PharmD Program Director to continually review and improvement of processes and outcomes to ensure sustained excellence of the experiential education program at the School.
- Supervise the Clinical Coordinator.
Experiential education oversight of all SPHS programs (20%):
- Supports and participates in accreditation activities as required and in cooperation with other Program Directors/Associate/ Assistant Deans/ Dean and the Vice President of Academic Affairs of the School.
- Develop and oversee operational and strategic aspects of the experiential/clinical education program.
- Oversee all the Director(s) of Clinical Education/ Academic Fieldwork Coordinator/Clinical Coordinators in SPHS programs.
- Reviews and approves new experiential education sites. Secures affiliation agreements for experiential education sites.
- Conducts and supervises site visits. Assists in developing appropriate assessment activities/reports
- Prepares volunteer/adjunct/affiliate clinical faculty appointments, reappointments, and evaluations.
- Provides oversight in achieving strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives related to clinical education.
- Makes sure that clinical education policies and procedures are followed.
- Works with experiential leads from all programs for preceptor and site recruitment, development, and recognition.
- Maintains a manual of policies and procedures for experiential education programs.
- Additional duties may be assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements
