The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated, creative team-orientated individual for a full-time, calendar year, appointment stream faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The successful applicant will have their efforts equally focused on providing comprehensive pharmacy services and patient care for patients on the Cardiology service at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and leading simulation-based education, interprofessional education, and scholarship. The faculty member will be expected to maintain an active clinical practice within cardiology services at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. This will primarily include multidisciplinary inpatient rounding with the advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension service. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to grow simulation, interprofessional, and other educational strategies at the School of Pharmacy including partnering with other schools and collaborators. Scholarly activities will be focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning as well as patient-focused research associated with service-related activities. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for students, residents, and other trainees.

The ideal candidate will have a PharmD and a minimum of three years of teaching and practice experience in cardiology, general medicine, internal medicine, and/or pharmacotherapy; and residency and/or fellowship training. Board certification is highly desired. Other qualifications and experiences will be considered. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics is home to the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved. In partnership with UPMC, the department is home to twelve accredited residency programs, plus twelve pharmacy fellowship training programs.
