The College of Pharmacy at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science invites applications for a pharmacy practice faculty position (non-tenure track) at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with a practice focus in Medication Safety. Successful candidates should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be licensed or eligible for state licensure.  Candidates should have successfully completed at least one year post-graduate residency program in pharmacy practice (or have equivalent experience); PGY-2 residency and Board Certification preferred. Teaching experience should be consistent with assistant or associate professor rank.  Candidates with research experience, a strong interest in inter-professional education, and a commitment to scholarly activity are also highly desirable.

Candidates will join a progressive clinical practice at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.  Lutheran General is a leading health care provider in Chicago’s North and Northwest suburbs offering a Level I Trauma Center, access to national clinical trials, and advanced medical technologies. The faculty member will spend 60% of the time working with the medication safety team to review medication events, analyze data and trends to identify improvement opportunities, and attend local and system-wide medication safety meetings. 

The faculty member will also be responsible for precepting both students and residents.

 

Additional responsibilities for this position include providing innovative, classroom education to pharmacy students and other health care students in an inter-professionally-based curriculum.  Candidates will also be expected to participate in research/scholarly activities and service to the College and profession.
