Overview:
PGY2 SPECIALTY PHARMACY ADMISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP RESIDENCY PROGRAM Program Description & Special Features: The PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Program at Maxor National Pharmacy Services is a post-graduate training experience with an emphasis on specialty pharmacy, administration, and leadership. Rotations include patient care and management at our specialty pharmacies, clinical and formulary management, and longitudinal experiences provided at our corporate office in quality, safety and process improvement, finance and budgeting, human resource management, and leadership. The resident may have the opportunity to interact virtually or onsite at multiple Maxor practice sites including specialty, infusion, health-system, federally qualified health centers, PBM, and mail order. Experience in supporting accreditation efforts across the enterprise with ACHC and URAC will be provided. The completion of a formal research project is required Purpose Statement:PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification, if available.Maxor's PGY2 SPAL residency builds upon PGY1 residency graduates' competence in the delivery of patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services to prepare residents who can assume high level managerial, supervisory, and leadership responsibilities. Areas of competence emphasized during the program include safe and effective medication use systems, quality assurance and improvement, the management of human resources, the management of financial resources, use of technology, and advanced leadership. The residency lays the foundation for continued growth in management and leadership skills. Responsibilities:
Practice Setting: This program provides an Enterprise level experience that includes opportunities for both onsite and remote support of regional offices and pharmacies located nationwide. Approximately 8-12* weeks of the program may be completed at our specialty pharmacy located in Amarillo, Texas, Washington D.C., or at some of our other specialty pharmacies located across the United States. The remainder of the program may be completed remotely via teleconferencing and electronic communication. *Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, program modifications may allow for a near 100% virtual experience. * Onsite or virtual experiences may be possible at the following specialty pharmacy locations:Atlanta, GA (multiple locations)Clearwater, FLCorpus Christi, TXLauderdale, FLJacksonville, FLLubbock, TXNew York City, NY (multiple locations)Washington, DC (multiple locations)Benefits:Maxor offers a culture that promotes teamwork and where employees are valued as the Company's best asset. Qualifications:
Requirements: Applicants must either be a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program or one in process of pursuing accreditation. The applicant must be participating in, or have completed, an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program, or one in the ASHP accreditation process, such as one with candidate or preliminary accreditation status. Eligibility for licensure in the jurisdiction(s) of practice, curriculum vitae, copy of pharmacy school transcript, completed application via PhORCAS including three PhORCAS recommendation forms (one required to be written by PGY-1 residency director or PGY-1 preceptor ), letter of intent, and interview. NOTES:Telecommuting is allowed.
