Clinical Pharmacist - Inpatient - Oncology Specialist
POSITION TYPE: Healthcare Provider
SPECIALTY UNIT: Clinical Pharmacist - Inpatient - Oncology Specialist
LOCATION: Portland, OR
SHIFT: Days/Variable
JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent
$1000 Sign On Bonus

Position Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacist is a highly trained practitioner who plays an active role in managing all aspects of medication therapy in an acute-care hospital setting. Position tasks and responsibilities include performing duties independently on Unit-based Clinical Service Areas, Central Pharmacy, Childrens Hospital Pharmacy, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit Pharmacies.
Responsibilities:
Promotes the safe and effective use of medication for all patients of the hospital through proper interpretation of physician orders, accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals, and monitoring of therapy.
Provides accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to other health care providers.
Maintains and reviews patient profiles and makes recommendations to prescribes to ensure appropriateness of therapy, avoid drug interactions and adverse reaction.
Provides for appropriate inventories of approved medication for routine, emergency, and floor stock situation.
Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills, advanced mathematical skills required.
Keyboarding skills are preferred (must be able to develop competence using hospital pharmacy software).
Word processing skills are preferred.
Must have the ability to work with medical staff, nursing staff and other healthcare employees.

Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
PGY-1 Residency.-OR- PGY-2 Residency
Without Residency: Four (4) years of experience (2+ years of oncology experience and the remaining years in an inpatient hospital setting)
With PGY-1: Two (2) years of oncology experience
With PGY-2: PGY-2 should be in oncology
Eligible for Board certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Pharmacotherapy and/or specific area of practice (within 3 years of hire)
Current registration and licensure by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy OR ability to obtain an Oregon license before your start date
