The Department of Clinical Sciences in the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University invites applications for 4 full-time non-tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected. The 4 positions are as follows:

 

1. Ambulatory care/interprofessional education (IPE) director (R0004559)

 

The individual in the ambulatory care/IPE director position will be responsible for teaching Pharm.D. students, directing the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy IPE program, providing service at the University and in the greater High Point area, and maintaining scholarly activities in relevant areas and conducting research projects in a multidisciplinary fashion as allowed by the allocated research effort.

 

The estimated distribution of effort for this individual at program maturity (i.e., when a full faculty cohort is hired) will be 40-50% teaching and 40-50% service, and 10% research.

 

2. Ambulatory care/community pharmacy (R0004560)

 

The individual in the ambulatory care/community pharmacy position will be responsible for teaching PharmD students, providing service at the University and in the greater High Point area, and maintaining scholarly activities in relevant areas and conducting research projects in a multidisciplinary fashion as allowed by the allocated research effort. This will be advanced by clinical practice collaborations maintained by the individual.

 

The estimated distribution of effort for this individual at program maturity (i.e., when a full faculty cohort is hired) will be 50-60% teaching and 30-40% service, and 10% research.

 

3. Pharmacy management (R0004561)

 

The individual in the pharmacy management position will be responsible for teaching PharmD students, providing service at the University and in the greater High Point area, and maintaining scholarly activities in relevant areas and conducting research projects in a multidisciplinary fashion as allowed by the allocated research effort. This will be advanced by clinical practice collaborations maintained by the individual.

4. Social administrative science/director of programmatic assessment (R0004764)

 

The individual in the social administrative science/director of programmatic assessment position will be responsible for teaching PharmD students, providing service at the University and in the greater High Point area, and maintaining scholarly activities in relevant areas and conducting research projects in a multidisciplinary fashion as allowed by the allocated research effort. This will be advanced by collaborations maintained by the individual.

 

The estimated distribution of effort for this individual at program maturity (i.e., when a full faculty cohort is hired) will be 50-60% teaching and 30-40% service, and 10% research.

1. Ambulatory care/interprofessional education (IPE) director (R0004559)

 

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited school is required. Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in in North Carolina is required.
  • Completion of a pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency with an emphasis in Ambulatory Care or Community Pharmacy or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in these areas of pharmacy practice is required.
  • Candidates with PGY2 and/or fellowship training in Ambulatory Care, Community Pharmacy, Geriatrics, Pharmacotherapy, Internal Medicine, or Cardiology, or extensive experience in one of these areas is highly preferred.
  • Additional professional certifications (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, CDE, MBA, MHA, MPH) are also preferred.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) of relevant medical or academic pharmacy teaching is preferred.
  • Experience developing a clinical practice site and successfully conducting practice-based research is highly preferred.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited school is required. Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in in North Carolina is required.
  • Completion of a pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency with an emphasis in Ambulatory Care or Community Pharmacy or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in these areas of pharmacy practice is required.

  • Additional professional certifications (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, CDE, MBA, MHA, MPH) are also preferred.

 

4. Social administrative science/director of programmatic assessment (R0004764)

 

  • Pharm.D. and/or PhD is required.
  • Candidates with a PharmD should be eligible for pharmacy licensure in in North Carolina.
  • Candidates with additional graduate/post-graduate training (e.g., fellowship, PGY1/PGY2 residency, MHA, MPH) and professional certifications (e.g., BCPS) are preferred.
  • Experience in applied health services research, pharmacoeconomics, public health or other similar quantitative/social sciences areas is preferred.
  • Experience with curricular assessment is preferred.
  • A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and research is preferred.
  • Experience working with students as a faculty mentor or preceptor is preferred.
