The position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor rank will support the educational and the patient care missions of the UMKC SOP and University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri.

The successful candidate will provide pharmacy patient care services as a member of an interprofessional team responsible for the clinical pharmacotherapeutic care of patients admitted to the internal medicine care teams. Clinical responsibilities include providing quality, innovative pharmacy services to patients to improve outcomes and achieve benchmarks. Duties also include patient/caregiver education, medication adherence activities, and interdisciplinary education. Scholarly productivity is expected. Service to the SOP, the DPPA, and UMKC through participation in faculty meetings, service on committees, and to the profession through participation in state and national professional organizations is expected. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience with or interest in mentorship and teaching students from underrepresented groups.

The UMKC SOP’s mission is to educate, innovate, discover, engage, and serve to improve health. MU Health Care was founded in 1845 and serves as the primary academic medical center to support the inter professional training of students from the medical, nursing, pharmacy and health professions schools.  MU Health Care is the primary referral center for central Missouri from the northern border with Iowa to the southern border with Arkansas.  MU Health Care is also an internationally recognized leader in clinical research. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team that includes board certified pharmacists.
