Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a Level I trauma center, and a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) has immediate opportunities in our state-of-the-art pharmacy department for clinical pharmacy specialists in various departments, including:

• Cardiology
• Emergency Medicine
• Hematology/Oncology (Inpatient Ambulatory)
• Internal Medicine
• Solid Organ Transplant
• Surgical Critical Care

Working collaboratively with other health care providers, you will provide patient-centered care with the goal of providing evidence-based, cost-effective pharmacotherapy for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center patients. The scope and nature of patient care services provided will depend on the practice setting, but typically would include active involvement in interdisciplinary patient care activities, pharmacotherapy consultation, medication therapy monitoring, provision of drug information, education to both health care providers and patients, and guideline development and implementation. Additionally, you will assist with the continued development and promotion of clinical pharmacy services by participating in pharmacy staff, resident, and student education, as well as supporting the safe and effective use of medication through Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee involvement.

In addition to state of MA Pharmacist licensure, ideal candidates will have:

• Two years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in the area of practice, or completion of a pharmacy residency focused in the area of practice Certification to administer immunizations (immunization certification) Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) Pharmacotherapy Specialty Certification or specialty area of practice, if available through BPS Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with all members of the healthcare team effectively
