Our Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology provides comprehensive, quality medication management for patients of Penn Medicine through application of pharmacy practice standards in a decentralized model. The pharmacist reviews physician orders and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical preparations to Oncology patients throughout the hospital. The pharmacist also maintains accurate patient profiles, monitors and helps to manage drug therapies in order to achieve positive patient outcomes. In addition, the pharmacist participates in including patient counseling, nursing and provider education. The Clinical pharmacist also participates in Oncology specific and Department of Pharmacy initiatives related to quality and process improvement and precepts pharmacy students.
