Responsibilities

Clinical Pharmacist Responsible for providing recommendations and/or assuming responsibility for nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, or other medication regimens as prescribed by physician. Must be able to perform all duties of Specialty Resource Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Care Pharmacist including distributive and computer functions. Must be competent and timely in the completion of all system assignments. Must be competent to provide pharmaceutical services for designated service line including higher acuity patients.

Functions and responsibilities on Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee: Participate as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee. Identify target medications/therapies, develop criteria, and implement data collection for Medication Use Evaluations (MUE). Tabulate and present completed MUE data to the P&T committee. Assist in formulary maintenance by critiquing new entities, comparing medication classes, and developing therapeutic interchanges where applicable.Assist in developing drug protocols. Participate on assigned committees.

General Pharmacy Practice: Document clinical interventions on an ongoing basis. Demonstrate a basic understanding of distributive responsibilities including computer functions. Assist in investigational drug studies when needed. Provide drug information when needed or requested. Upon physician request, provides recommendations and/or takes over therapy providing coverage of nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, or other medication regimens as prescribed by physician. Provide on-call clinical pharmacy services as needed. Education Skills: Develop and provide educational programs/in services for health care practitioners and patients as required. Assist in preparing for and maintaining compliance with regulatory agency (e.g. JCAHO) standards/requirements. Meets and talks with pharmaceutical sales representatives as time permits. Participate as a preceptor/instructor for students from accredited colleges/schools of pharmacy.
Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Licensed by, and in good standing with, the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy - PharmD required.

Required Minimum Experience:

Experience with nutritional support and pharmacokinetics.

Two years clinical experience highly preferred.

Hospital Residency highly preferred.

Trauma Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist: PGY2 in Trauma Critical Care highly preferred.Required Minimum Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills.

Experience with STAR, Microsoft Office, etc... preferred.

Capable of preparing and providing presentations.

Strong organizational skills.
