NGHS is currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist-Cardiology for our Pharmacy team in Gainesville.

Full Time, Days-7:00am-5:30pm

Coronary Care Unit, CV Intensive Care Unit, Heart Failure Treatment Unit, Cardiac Step Down Unit

CV, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Non-invasive Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Outpatient cardiology to include Women's Heart Center

Emergency Cardiac Care Level 1 Designation

LVAD and ECMO Programs

Job Summary: Establishes, coordinates and provides clinical pharmacy services within the hospital. Functions in the role of consultant and educator of drug therapy to health care workers. This position will care for patients in the neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensure or other certifications: Pharm D. or R.Ph. required.
  • Educational Requirements: Pharm. D. or BS Degree.
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy plus one year residency required.
  • No Minimum experience required
  • PGY-1 followed by PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Critical Care or Cardiology PLUS 3 years' experience in Cardiology or Cardiac Critical Care (preferred)
  • PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency PLUS 3 years' experience in Cardiology or Cardiac Critical Care will be considered
  • Board Certification in Cardiology or Critical Care (preferred)
  • Long-standing PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program
  • Graduate Medical Residency programs and new Cardiovascular Medical Fellowship program

Physical Demands
  • Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Occasionally kneeling/stooping/bending
  • Occasionally pushing/pulling
  • Occasionally standing/walking
  • Frequent intensive work, requires reading, writing, reasoning, & talking
