Clinical Assistant (Non-Tenure Track) rank and Assistant Director

The Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy Department invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of clinical assistant professor and Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services at UF Health Physicians (UFHP). The successful candidate's work will be divided between tasks relevant to the Department and collaboration with UFHP, the UF physician practice group. For UFHP, the faculty member will maintain and create joint research/quality improvement, clinical, and administrative initiatives in the UFHP ambulatory clinics and fill consulting pharmacy needs. In this role, the faculty will also supervise a post-PharmD fellow supported by UFHP. Within the Department, the faculty will assume responsibilities for teaching, research, and service, including initiation of research projects with an emphasis on quality improvement and medication safety and a commitment to teaching in the professional and the graduate programs.

Applicants must be eligible for a Florida Pharmacy License. Post-graduate training or equivalent experience in pharmacoeconomics, health services research, pharmacoepidemiology, implementation science, or a relevant, related discipline is highly recommended. Potential candidates will show a commitment to scholarship, promise for a funded research program, a successful track record in Pharm.D. and graduate education, and interest in implementation of data-driven and population-based approaches to improving clinical care.

The UF College of Pharmacy ranks among the top five colleges of pharmacy in the nation and is located at the main campus of the University of Florida, the flagship AAU institution of the State of Florida. The College is based in one of the largest integrated academic health centers in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, situated on a campus serving over 50,000 students.  The growing Department consists of 11 tenured and tenure track faculty and nontenure track faculty and affiliated faculty.  It has an internationally recognized residential graduate program with about 30 PhD students and a growing online MS program with 150+ students.  The Department's research infrastructure is supported by the newly-founded Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety, or CoDES (https://codes.pharmacy.ufl.edu), which facilitates research collaborations in real-world populations using a variety of big data sources.  The Department's focus in research and graduate training is centered on the evaluation of drugs, related medical technology, and healthcare services. This focus includes classic pharmacoepidemiologic work in drug safety and comparative effectiveness, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research, as well as pharmaceutical health services research.
