Senior Pharmacist Emerging Therapies

Salary Range: $6,791.45 to $7,648.66 Biweekly

This position coordinates Emerging Therapies for UC Davis Health and works with Utilization Management to review prior authorization functions and medication selection for UC Davis Health Managed Care patients. 

 

Required Qualifications  

Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.

• California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire

• PGY1 or PGY2 Residency (Drug Informatics and Utilization Management – Highly Preferred)

• Recent experience in Utilization Management (within last 5 years)

• Knowledge and familiarity of California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulation

• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for clinic/department’s customers; 

     • Demonstrate in an interested, understanding and compassionate manner

     • Maintain a courteous and calm demeanor 

     • Use a proactive approach to negotiate with and persuade others to take required action.

Problem solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; 

     • Identify the resources available to help solve the problem; 

     • Create and implement viable solutions; 

     • Follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. 

• Ability to exercise discretion to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained, and a professional, respectful environment exists at all times. 

• Ability to use the Microsoft office tools and familiarity with Tableau, and other technology based, data analytic tools

• Articulate and influential oral and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification

• Training in Drug Informatics and Utilization Management (Highly Preferred).

Special Requirements  

• Must be California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire 

Pharmacy Practice Residency Required, with emphasis in drug informatics and/or utilization management highly preferred.  This position is “exempt” and on occasion the employee may be required to work longer than normal 40-hour work week. Situations may also arise when the incumbent will be required to return to hospital after normal working hours, to resolve emergent issues.  Must be willing and able to travel to various UC Davis Health clinics. 

• This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment. 

• The University of California has implemented a SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination Policy (ucop.edu) covering all employees.  To be compliant with the policy, employees must submit proof of vaccination or a University-approved exception or deferral.
