Responsibilities:
The Clinical Pharmacist II provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care primarily through a decentralized model providing service excellence, clinical services, distributive functions, education, and a commitment to the departments mission. They shall demonstrate leadership qualities, serve as a role model, and actively participate in development and revision of policies and procedures, evidence based protocols/ordersets, and quality/performance improvement projects. Clinical Pharmacists II shall possess characteristics to successfully fulfill their responsibilities, including effective communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, cooperation, and a high level of knowledge and skills applicable to their area of practice. Emphasis in practice area may include Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medication Safety, and/or Surgery. They will regularly participate in interdisciplinary rounds/meetings, profile orders for medications, monitor patients drug therapies, provide drug information, and initiate/modify drug therapy based on medical staff approved policies and protocols including anticoagulation, nutrition support and pharmacokinetics. A Clinical Pharmacist II supervises and directs supportive staff, precepts pharmacy students, residents, and pharmacy trainees. They will provide information regarding medication therapy in both formal and informal settings to healthcare providers, residents, staff, patients, and families. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a Clinical Staff Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy. Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution or Bachelors degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an accredited institution with relevant experience in the area of practice.PGY1 Residency/fellowship or Three (3) years of relevant acute care experienceCurrent Pharmacist License in the State of FloridaBoard Certification (BPS) active or certification that meets ASHP preceptor qualifications relevant to intended area of focus.Preferred: PGY2 or board certification in CardiologyEEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
