Primary responsibility is the provision of integrated clinical and distributive pharmacy services, direct patient care, expert experiential pharmacy student and resident training, and leadership of quality improvement and practice advancement initiatives. Proficiently leads direct patient care programs, advanced drug management services, and all medication use systems throughout the institution. Actively provides clinical pharmacy services and participates in multidisciplinary teams to proficiently complete critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and monitoring of patients with a broad range of disease states to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems. Actively participates in medication safety systems, regulatory compliance initiatives, patient quality services, and disease outcomes programs. Delivers medication therapy management consult services and disease state management services as needed and proactively intervenes in all areas of medication use as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes. Advocates for safe medication use in neonatal and pediatric patients. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Pharmacy Operations -
- Performs all pharmacist functions
- Maintains functional proficiency in and provides coverage of distributive functions and supervising technicians as requeste.
Pharmacy Practice -
- Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems
- Ensures age-, weight-, and indication-appropriate medication dosing
Clinical Pharmacy Services -
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary patient care rounds
- Provides primary coverage of direct patient care programs and provides accurate, safe, timely, and appropriate medication therapy based on patient needs
Teamwork and Inter-professional Collaboration -
- Presents to assigned areas on time and ready to work and does not exhibit excessive unscheduled absenteeism
- Ensures continuity of care between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas

What You Will Need:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree required
- Current valid State of Florida Pharmacist license
- Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) & Post Graduate Year Two (PGY2) Pharmacy Residency in specialty area consistent with practice needs of institution
- PGY1 Residency plus contemporary pediatric hospital or specialty practice experience (3+ years) consistent with practice needs of institution
- Board certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
- Registration as a pharmacist preceptor with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and applicable schools of pharmacy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
