To help advance this mission, we are seeking a distinguished applicant to fill one professional-track (non-tenure), clinical faculty position at the rank of assistant, associate, or professor (depending on qualifications) for a full time Pediatrics faculty position. This position is located in Austin, Texas and will be co-funded (50/50) with https://www.dellchildrens.net/ (DCMC) and the College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin with a practice site at DCMC.

https://www.dellchildrens.net/ in Austin, Texas is currently a 221-bed academic facility with a growth plan in progress that will add an additional 75 beds and a second hospital site in late 2022. The practice site provides a wide variety of pediatric acute care including cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, maternal-fetal medicine, heart and kidney transplantation and advanced critical care treatment including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The site has a Level 1 Trauma center and a Level IV Neonatal ICU.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will facilitate practice laboratories, provide classroom instruction, mentor, and supervise clinical clerkships for students in the Pharm.D. program. Clinical service that supports resident and Pharm.D. student education and the goals and directives of the Dell Children's Medical Center Pharmacy Department is expected. Faculty members will provide service to the college, hospital, university, and broader professional community and will contribute to the operational success of the Pharmacy Department, as appropriate. The primary practice focus of this position will be pediatric patients admitted to Dell Children's Medical Center. The faculty member will be expected to supervise pharmacy students and residents to help them learn to care for hospitalized pediatric patients with acute and chronic conditions. The successful individual will have interests in developing inter-professional collaborations to advance pharmacy practice, research, and scholarship. Candidates must: have an earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; be licensed or be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas; have successfully completed a Pediatric PGY-1 or PGY-2 specialty practice residency (preferred) or equivalent experience by the start date (July 1, 2022); be able to demonstrate effective teaching.
