Job-Title:  Assistant/Associate/Professor, Faculty for the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences, American University of Health Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Signal Hill, California.

Position-Parameters:  Full-time, 12-month positions. 

The American University of Health Sciences (AUHS) School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical & Administrative Sciences, is accepting applications for SOP faculty members in the areas of Social & Administrative Pharmacy, Acute Care or General Medicine practice in specialty practice areas such as Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Oncology and Critical Care.  The selected faculty members will engage in teaching, scholarship, and academic service activities, and/or providing direct patient care practice.

The American University of Health Sciences was founded in 1994 as a postsecondary training institution to educate and equip students for lifelong careers in the field of health education and to produce quality health care professionals.  AUHS is the first, private for-profit, minority-owned, minority-serving, Christian-based university in the history of California offering a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.  The School of Pharmacy (SOP) was officially notified by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) of its having been granted Candidate status, the second major step in the process is becoming fully accredited, which will join other programs for Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing (BSN), Pharmaceutical Science (BSPS) and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research (MSCR) and Nurse Practitioner (NP).  AUHS is unique in its purpose in that it exists to educate students from ethnic and culturally diverse backgrounds to make a positive impact on the health care needs of vulnerable populations through the provision of evidenced-based practice.  The university’s core values are inspired by the Christian attributes of love, caring for humankind, justice and respect. The university takes a holistic approach to education, service to others, and a commitment to life-long learning.  AUHS is located at 1600 East Hill Street in Signal Hill, California and is situated in a mixed industrial residential area.  The university sits on six (6) acres of land and has three separate buildings totaling 72,000 square feet. 

Successful candidates must possess the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution. Additionally, candidates must have completed a post-graduate Year-1 or/and Year-2 pharmacy residency, and/or fellowship training or possess equivalent experience. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of California. An established record of teaching and scholarly accomplishments and board certification are desirable.
