Position Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls to serve our patients and providers. The Clinical Pharmacist also provides pharmacy counseling services to patients regarding the effective usage of medications and awareness with drug interactions.
Work hours are Monday-Friday with a varied schedule between 6:30am and 8pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides quality customer service while using effective communication
Provides counseling to patients regarding their medications to support appropriate and effective medical therapies
Consults with prescribing practitioners to help ensure accurate and appropriate medication use
Reviews medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness
Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Food and Drug Administration
Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach
Maintains required licenses and certifications, must be in good standing with all regulatory agencies
Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards
Maintains confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance by protecting the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI)
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks
Must be able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
Accurate data entry skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment
Excellent attention to detail
Flexible and proactive to meet varied patient and company needs
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong interpersonal and people skills
Able to work sitting down for duration of shift
Experience and Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
2+ years related experience in a clinical setting
Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English)
