St. Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincents is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the systems second-largest hospital
Pharmacists perform functions related to the control, monitoring and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advises nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration. Pharmacists promote the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community.
Qualifications :
Education
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Pharm.D. preferred
Minimum Experience
Current CT Pharmacist license
Prior experience as a pharmacist in an emergency department and/or PGY-2 residency in Emergency Medicine preferred.
