Description:

This job will expand our already existing team. With the addition of a second pharmacist to the team, dedicated time will be split between Clinical ID and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Clinical ID time will be spent supporting and rounding with Infectious Diseases consult team(s). UAMS has 3 ID consult teams: general consults, transplant ID, and orthopedic infectious diseases. Additionally, there is an Internal medicine/ID led team that is attended by ID. While providing ID support, there will be experiential teaching opportunities with the UAMS College of Pharmacy and precepting for the UAMS PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency. There will also be dedicated time with the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP). The UAMS ASP has been in place for 10 years, and utilizes different strategies and tools to optimize antimicrobial use.

UAMS is a 500 bed academic medical center/level 1 trauma center located in Little Rock, AR and is the only academic medical center in the state of Arkansas. UAMS has a bone marrow transplant program and solid organ transplant program, providing a diverse patient population. There are 4 PGY-1 pharmacy residents, and a critical care PGY-2 pharmacy resident, with a hope to start a PGY-2 Infectious Diseases pharmacy residency.
